About the Shanban

Shanban was born from personal experience and a relentless pursuit of innovation. As a former Division I wide receiver at the University of Tennessee and the University of Louisville, Matt's football career was hindered by recurring hamstring injuries. At Louisville, trainers strapped resistance bands to their legs to enable continued training during recovery.

However, after leaving the sport, Matt discovered that no commercial product existed to provide the same targeted rehabilitation. This realization launched his journey to create Shanban, the first and only patented hamstring rehabilitation support device.

Developing the Shanban

Recognizing the lack of effective solutions for hamstring injuries, Matt founded a company to develop and distribute the Shanban product. Along the way, a formidable core team of seasoned product developers and specialists was assembled.

Through extensive research, prototyping, and validation by doctors, physical therapists, and professional athletes, the Shanban team has created and refined a device that enhances recovery, reduces re-injury, and supports peak performance.
